Glastonbury village and back

View of Glastonbury county and the festival in the distance from the Tor, near Glastonbury village.

Kev getting festival ready.

More photos from the first two days here - as the festival doesn't start officially until Thursday night we ventured out to Glastonbury village.

On the road, starting early

It's so nice, I think we should go camping tomorrow

Glasto photos to come as soon as I can piece back together the mind that was blown while at the festival.
Like. Nothing. Else.

Prepaid culture

The business center of Canary Wharf only has a culture of drinking & reading a Blackberry while walking. Every so often they manage to bring in some artificial culture to top us up.

Five

If the last five years was a movie montage set to the score of an uplifting melody, my life would appear to be airplane/train/car/tube journeys arriving at sun, snow and constantly changing work and home destinations.

Half a decade ago today I paid NZ$100 in extra baggage to get my life onto a plane. I was setting out to see the rest, gain valuable experience during the 9-5 and after and make something of the opportunities I was chasing. It hasn't all been running though. Life is made up by the bits in-between, including the mundane that would have remained if I had chosen to stay. But, I am glad to see that all those choices, wise or otherwise have lead to what I set out for. My career has progressed, possibly in the same rate it would have at home but with much bigger names and now my new learning curve isn’t taking on a new city, but taking on a new role. I’m treading as fast as I can, usually as late as I need to. And I’m loving it. (Even with the occasional isolation of homesickness).

Oh yeah, something else started five years ago, and having cleared the cobwebbs away, there's still some life in the old blog. (some testing still required)

Green is good

A killer off the streets

At 4am this morning, I was nearly killed! (caution: hyperbole) Above our bed hangs a banged up silver frame, found outside a picture framers in Wimbledon two years ago. After years of a fine execution of hanging, the twine broke and dropped just above my pillow.
Much to Kev's disagreement, I'm all for hanging it up there again. Live life on the edge so to speak, but maybe sleep a little further down from it...

All in all

Not overly impressed by this BlackBerry's camera, needs some improvement.

Up the ante

English flags like this have appeared all over London.
If we fly our flag (literally, not figuratively), we might need the same security on the our silver fern.

Over till next season

We've just finished watching season five of Outrageous Fortune. Crazy Shortland-Street-finale.
But the real tragedy is that only kiwis know about this awesome series. (Well, I don't mind personally, foreigners won't get it and just make fun of the accents anyway, if five years overseas with a strong kiwi accent is anything to go by).
